NOI Conference - An Extravaganza for Pain Clinicians

The second Neuro Orthopaedic Conference is scheduled for 26th - 28th April 2012 in Adelaide, Australia and it promises to be an extravaganza for all the [ain clinicians. It promises to "close the knowledge gap which has opened up as the neuroscience revolution races away from standard clinical practice". The conference aims to move pain and stress management into the realm of neuroscience-backed biopsychosocial practice.

A tribute to the legend that was.... Geoffrey Douglas Maitland

Geoffrey Douglas Maitland MBE, the name needs no introduction to any musculoskeletal physiotherapist. It is one year now since Geoff passed away on 22nd January 2010 after a long period of declining health. I feel that it is apt time to remember the great personality and his invaluable contributions to development of physiotherapy.

Dr Deepak Kumar is the only recognised Mulligan Concept teacher in South Asia, who has trained more than 6000 physiotherapists, made 12 inventions in physiotherapy and is a recipient of fellowship of Indian Association of Physiotherapy. We will talk to Dr Deepak about his life and struggles involved to reach the peak of professional physiotherapy in India and his dreams for the future.

Dr Craig Liebenson - Patient-centered care is crucial in this information age

Dr Craig Liebenson is the celebrated author of Rehabilitation of the Spine: A Practioner’s Manual, the first Chiropractor member of McKenzie Institute (US) Board of Directors and is a member of editorial board of numerous Journals including Journal of Occupational Rehabilitation; the PM&R Journal of Injury, Function and Rehabilitation; the Journal of Bodywork and Movement Therapy; and Journal of Manual Therapy. His new book The Functional Training Handbook is due for release later this year.
